Dr. Frank Cizek, called by some the "Father of Art Education", was prominent in the "pre-school and education reform movement (Pestalozzi, Froebel, Montessori) through its emphasis on the emotive (Cizek's and Itten's art classes for children in Vienna, Frank Lloyd Wright's Froebel toys)".
His ideas about the nature of children and art education become widespread through his Exhibition of Children's Art in London in 1934-5.
Cizek taught art to children through his Juvenile Art Class in Vienna for 40 years. Cizek's approach to juvenile art education opened the minds of many educators to a new way of teaching art. His main belief was that children should let their natural talents unfold freely, unhampered by vocational, or technical training from their teachers.
