Scenes by a Riverside: c. 1880, Woodblock Prints by Mori Shunkei

Still Life is pleased to present a selection of woodblock prints by Mori Shunkei portraying a full array of various insects and flowers. Mori Shunkei was an Osaka artist. He was a student of the famed Mori Shunsen and like his master he is best known for his nature studies. Exquisitely printed, softly colored and sensitively designed these realistic renderings exemplify Shunkei’s profound love of nature.
